OTTUMWA- Seth Andrew Techel, 22, was charged with first-degree murder and non-consensual termination of a human pregnancy in the death of his wife, Lisa Techel, at their rural home in Agency, Iowa.
Tehchel’s trial date, originally set for November 6, 2012 has been moved to Tuesday, February 19, 2013.
On May 26, 2012 Lisa M. Techel was discovered deceased inside her residence at 8723 Fox Hills Road located in Agency, Iowa. According to documents released by the Wapello County Sheriff’s Department, the investigation determined that she died as a result of a gun-shot wound from a slug. At the time of death, Lisa was 17 weeks pregnant with a child.
First-degree murder is a Class A felony and carries a life sentence in prison. Non-consensual termination of a human pregnancy is a Class B felony and carries a sentence of up to 25 years.
Techel is currently being held on a $750,000 cash-only bond.
