The purpose of the EEO Public File Report (“Report”) is to comply

with Section 73.2080(c)(6) of the FCC’s 2002 EEO Rule. This Report has

been prepared on behalf of the Station Employment Unit that is comprised

of the following station: KYOU, Ottumwa, IA and is required to be

placed in the public inspection files of this station, and posted on its web

site, if it has a web site.  The information contained in this Report covers the time period beginning 10/01/10 to and including 10/01/11 (the “Applicable Period”). The FCC’s 2002 EEO Rule requires that this Report contain the

Following information:

 

1. A list of all full-time vacancies filled by the Station comprising the Station Employment Unit during the Applicable Period.

2. For each such vacancy, the recruitment source(s) utilized to fill the

vacancy (including, if applicable, organizations entitled to notification

pursuant to Section 73.2080(c)(1)(ii) of the new EEO Rule, which should

be separately identified by name, address, contact person and telephone

number;

3. The recruitment source that referred the hiree for each full-time vacancy during the Applicable Period;

4. Data reflecting the total number of persons interviewed for full-time vacancies during the Applicable Period and the total number of interviewees referred by each recruitment source utilized in connection with such vacancies; and

5. A list and brief description of the initiatives undertaken pursuant to Section(s) 73.2080(c)(2) of the FCC rules.

Outreach Activity

 

1.  Post Job Openings on a Diverse Websites.

Listing of each Upper-Level category opening in online job banks whose membership includes substantial participation by women and minorities.

 

2.  Career Day at Truman State University 10/22/2010

I attended the event from 1-5pm located at the Student Union on Campus in Kirksville MO. The event consists of approximately 50 different businesses like: Expert Flight Safety from St. Louis, Bio-Reach Labs from St. Louis, TV Station KTVO, and one Kirksville Radio Station. My display table highlighted the full time account executive and student internship positions available at KYOU. The event was well organized with a constant flow of students with many questions concerning broadcasting and marketing. The attendances of the event provided an excellent way to promote the station and received positive compliment from students and staff members.

 

3.  Workplace Discrimination and Harassment 12/08/2010

General Manager Michael Elrod and the Hiring Coordinators for KYOU attended a webinar on Wednesday December 8, 2010 from 10:00 am to 10:30 am Central time.

This information was presented as a power point presentation with narration. The conference provided the opportunity to learn HR requirements and discuss different topics and ask questions to the moderator.

 

4. Truman State University Career Week 03/16/2011

KYOU attended this event from 11am-4pm located on the second floor of the Student Union on Campus. The event consists for three floors of recruitment booths with approximately 100 different businesses being represented. I interviewed many talented students with a wide range of skills. The event was well organized and provided KYOU with positive intern results.

 

5. Iowa Work-Force Job Fair 3/31/2011

KYOU attended this event from 11am-2pm located at the National Guard Armory in Ottumwa, Iowa. The event consists of approximately 30 local Business recruitment booths being represented. I recruited for general office assistant and sale executive positions at this event. I discussed the job positions skills needed with several local jobseekers and receive two dozen resumes.  The event was well structured and provided KYOU with positive results.

 

Ottumwa Home Expo – March 4, 5 & 6 2011

KYOU was a major sponsor At the Local Home Show located at the Ottumwa Bridge View Center KYOU had a display of programming promotional information, available opportunities for employment (master control operator full-time and Account Executive), with contact information and available applications for both positions. The event was while attended by the public and was spotlighted on local news.
