Master Control Operator
KYOU FOX 15 is now accepting applications for a full-time with benefits position as a Master Control Operator. This job consists of airing our programs, playing and logging our commercial breaks, recording programs, and following all FCC regulations. Sales Account Executive
KYOU-TV and mylocalFOX15.com seeks a Sales Account Executive. Do you have a winning attitude, solutions-based ideas, and a tenacious work ethic? Essential Functions:
- Develop new client base as well as sell and service existing accounts.
- Build strong relationships with clients and advertising agencies.
- Use knowledge of programming and qualitative research data to create marketing presentations that sell value to our clients and positions our station again competition.
- Use consultative sales approach to build relationships and grow business for our clients and our station.
- Write presentations, edit existing presentations, and understand research specific to the broadcast television industry.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, or business degree or comparable work experience preferred.
Work Experience:
1-3 years of media or outside sales experience preferred. Must possess excellent communication skills. Must be comfortable dealing with all levels of staff including corporate, local and station personnel. Must have polished presentation skills. Must be able to present research information and station proposals in a clear and enthusiastic manner. Must have ability to work well under pressure in a revenue goal and deadline-driven environment.
Basic Skills:
Applicants must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook. Familiarity with Wide Orbit traffic system a plus! Must be able to drive and have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

KYOU FOX 15, the FOX affiliate for Southeast Iowa and Northeast Missouri seeks highly motivated individuals who have an interest in broadcast television. We currently have four internship positions available. Please see below for further details and application instructions.
Marketing/Promotions Internship
Responsibilities include:
Assist in developing and implementing an on-going Promotions strategy for web and station image
Coordinate station special events
Write on-air promotions/client commercials
Write and issue press releases
Assist in maintaining station graphics design
Develop Marketing efforts for KYOU, mylocalFOX15.com, and community and sales related events.
Video Production/Creative Services Internship
KYOU FOX 15, the FOX affiliate for Southeast Iowa and Northeast Missouri seeks highly motivated individuals who have an interest in video production/promotion and broadcast television.
Responsibilities include:
Write, shoot and edit topical promotion
Develop, write, shoot and edit image promotion that clearly identifies and markets the FOX 15 brand.
Write and edit promotion for special projects including targeted special reports, station events and community projects.
Work closely with creative services and marketing departments to write, shoot and edit a 13 episode local show and associated promotional material (Summer Only).
Work closely with web team to extend promotional opportunities on our website and social networking platforms.
Qualifications:
Must demonstrate strong writing skills and solid non-linear editing skills.
Adobe Premiere experience preferred.
Proficient in Adobe After Effects, Photoshop.
Ability to shoot video that makes our product stand out.
Works well with news producers, reporters and talent

Web Design/Management Internship (Broadcasting)
Responsibilities include:
Researching, creating and publishing original content to the website
Updating news headlines and other sections throughout the day
Creating, gathering and publishing multimedia content to the website
Creating web material to compliment our various marketing campaigns
Designing and managing specialty sections on the website
Participating in all web team meetings
Improving PHP-based website design for increased ease of use, accessibility and SEO
Requirements:
Excellent writing and copy editing skills.
Preferred web content producer experience.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Adobe Photoshop, PHP and FTP
Ability to work under tight deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Advanced typing and spelling skills.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including afternoon, evening and weekends.
PR/Marketing Internship (Think Local First Southeast Iowa)
Think Local First Southeast Iowa and www.buylocalseiowa.com seeks highly motivated individuals who have an interest in PR/Marketing. Think Local First Southeast Iowa is a marketing initiative of KYOU FOX-15 TV, the local FOX affiliate serving Southeast Iowa and Northeast Missouri. KYOU-TV is managed by one of the largest media companies in the country, Raycom Media.
The PR/Marketing intern will be actively enrolled in, or a recent graduate, of a university public relations, marketing, advertising or other related program. Current students will preferably have at least sophomore standing. The individual must demonstrate the ability to undertake basic public relations writing assignments, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, an understanding of basic media relations skills, an ability to interact professionally with participants, and good judgment.
A working knowledge of computers, as well as word processing and database management software, and social media, is necessary. The Public Relations & Marketing Coordinator will help the intern prioritize tasks and focus on multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Intern will work a minimum of 10 hours a week, depending on schedule and availability. Prior relevant experience is preferred.
The internship is unpaid, although a stipend may be available. Interns may also have the opportunity to receive college credit.
The intern will:
Draft basic public relations materials including news releases, media alerts, fact sheets, and other materials as directed.
Create and update content for the campaigns various social media efforts including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
Contribute to ongoing SEO and management of www.buylocalseiowa.com to increase web traffic.
Attend and participate in meetings as directed.
Provide writing assistance for quarterly newsletter and help with distribution.
Work with respective program managers to obtain content to write feature articles on participants for use in publications and on the website.
Other duties and special projects as needed.
Eligibility:
Students who are currently attending an accredited college and have achieved junior or senior status are eligible. Participants must have good computer skills, and excellent written and verbal communication abilities. A 3.0 GPA or above is recommended. Students must be able to meet the minimum time commitment.
Minimum Time Commitment:
Interns must work at least 10 hours per week. Scheduling can be flexible for the right individual.
Compensation:
This is an unpaid internship; however, a stipend may be available. Students are required to provide official documentation on school letterhead confirming that they will either receive credit for the internship or that the internship will appear on their official transcript. This documentation must be on file prior to start date.

The Internship Coordinator reviews all submitted applications and contacts qualified candidates for a phone interview.
Deadlines:
Fall and spring applicants are accepted on a rolling basis. The summer program selects and assigns students on a first-come, first-served basis.
